The Community of Democracies Parliamentary ForumRESOLUTION On the Situation in Georgia
Today the President of Georgia, Mr. Mikheil Saakashvili, according to the Constitution and the Rules of Procedure of Parliament, made the annual report on the current situation in the country for the sixth times.
At the sitting of the Anti Crisis Council that was held today by the proposal of Paata Davitaia, the Deputy Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, the members of the Council were expecting Nika Gilauri, the Prime Minister. The sitting concerned the State Strategy on IDPs. Nonattendance by the Prime Minister caused the discontent among the members of the Council.
The Temporary Commission on Territorial Integrity held the press conference on the second anniversary of Russian aggression to Georgia and introduced to the journalists the Appeal to the international community.
The major topics of the discussion of the today’s meeting of the Anti Crisis Council were the causes and their prevention among the under-age in the secondary educational institutions. The Minister of Education and Science Dimitri Shashkin, First Deputy Prosecutor General David Sakvarelidze, the Representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Ministry of Corrections and Legal Assistance were participating in the discussion of the issues.
At today’s sitting the Anti Crisis Council presented the report on the undertaken works for six months. The Chairman of the Anti Crisis Council, Giorgi Tortladze assessed positively the undertaken works and stated that the leading members of the Government of Georgia, the members of the Government and the experts took part in the sitting.
Ivane Javakhishvili Georgian Institute of History and Ethnology works on the new supplementary thematic handbook for the public school students, which will cover Georgia-Russia relations during XX-XXI centuries and the struggle of Georgian people for the independence.
At today’s sitting of the Anti Crisis Council, where several Ambassadors were invited, the MPs discussed the mechanisms of de-occupation of the occupied territories of Georgia.
At the sitting of Anti-crisis Council, the Tax Code of Georgia was discussed. The Members of the Council submitted own opinions and remarks to the Deputy-Minister of Finance, Irakli Siradze and the Parliamentary Secretary of the Government, Giorgi Khuroshvili.
At today’s sitting of the Anti Crisis Council the course of the constitutional reform and the changes and amendments to Draft Law on the Constitution of Georgia were discussed.
On the basis of request of The Abkhaz Supreme Soviet, the sitting of the Anti Crisis Council was held, where the information about the IDPs from Abkhazia was considered.
